Sluice room issues examined

During the presentation, DDC Dolphin managers outlined the activities of “The Sluice Room Company” which manufactures, installs, maintains and HTM validates all types of sluice room machines (pulp macerators, bedpan washers, incontinence pad macerators) nationwide. The presentation went on to look at developments for fighting healthcare acquired infections (HAIs), technical matters involved in thermal disinfection, and the HTM01-01 validation procedure.

DDC Dolphin has developed an electronic format that encrypts thermal traces for the validation documentation. The accuracy of these thermal traces gives peace of mind. Data for traceability cannot be tampered with.

Looking to the future, DDC Dolphin plans to develop products that proactively make a dirty utility a clean environment. It is working closely with infection control specialists and the Department of Health.
