New management team buy-in at Howorth

Clean air engineering specialist company Howorth has entered a new phase of its development with the buy-in of a new management team led by Andrew Steel.

Len Morris, managing director of the Howorth business for the last 19 years, has stepped down. The rest of the senior management group has remained in place to join Andrew Steel and his incoming team.

Andrew Steel was previously managing director of Altair Filter Technology Limited, an air technology company which was sold to GE Energy in 2006. Andrew Steel has been joined by Peter Lewis (previously sales director of Altair) and non-executive chairman Bob Spender (previously CEO of a major international process and filtration business).

Central to the success of Howorth over the years has been the company’s focus on its customers and, in moving forward, the new management team plans to build on this strength.

Andrew Steel said the good practice for which the company is renowned will continue, adding: “A change of ownership in a key supplier can often be a cause for apprehension.” He stated that Howorth wanted to assure customers the new management team and staff are committed to continuing to supply high quality goods and services, and to making the transition of ownership as seamless as possible.
