Bender UK says its ‘forward-thinking healthcare team’ members have ‘progressed to become leading clinical specialists’, alongside possessing ‘a core expertise in medical IT power’.
An ‘acknowledged electrical safety expert’ for 75 years, Bender is recognised for medical IT power (IPS) systems. It designs and installs complete turnkey theatre solutions, partnering with leading equipment specialists to supply UPS systems, operating tables, surgical lights, clinical pendants, and integrated theatre systems.
Bender says its ‘healthcare service’ continues to grow, with ‘a noticeable rise’ in the maintenance of clinical products. As the exclusive distributor of Merivaara products including Q-Flow lights, operating tables, and pendants, Bender UK has factory-trained engineers to support and maintain Merivaara and third-party clinical products. It said: “The comprehensive service and aftersales capabilities are delivered by a service team of commercial staff, service coordinators, and field-based engineers, who collectively support over 420 service contracts, maintaining over 11,000 assets on behalf of NHS Trusts, private medical groups, and FM companies.”
The team sets up and delivers all PPM schedules, while maintenance packages are tailored to each site, with ‘24/7, 365 day-a-year’ call-out, technical support, diagnostics, repairs, and health checks, to remain compliant with HTM standards, and prevent failures and theatre shutdowns. Bender has a network of engineers strategically located no more than two hours’ drive from healthcare customer locations. Either trained by Bender and Merivaara, or sub-contractors qualified to support approved maintenance regimes, they are deployed through a cloud-based planning schedule, with electronic reporting ‘for instant feedback on system health’. Replacement parts are carried by engineers, or held in stock for rapid repair.
Bender UK Service manager, Caroline Stevens, said: “The scale and skill of our department means that whether it is Bender power, third party UPS, or clinical equipment such as Merivaara operating tables, we emphasise the importance of ensuring that all critical care systems are protected by a Bender maintenance contract within the first 12 months of installation. This enables us to have sufficient stock of spares and resources in place to keep equipment healthy and uphold warranties.”
