Flooring is ‘Co2 neutral from cradle to Gate’

As the design of healthcare facilities continues to move towards more ‘human-centred’ designs to support the health, well-being, and comfort of end-users, Forbo Flooring Systems has refreshed its ‘CO2 neutral’ Marmoleum linear collection.

Forbo said: “Featuring a softly striated design, evoking an expression of wood, the new Marmoleum linear collection will help to bring a touch of nature inside to create relaxing and healing spaces. The linear aesthetic will not only emphasise the warmth of a space, but can also subtly connect various areas within a building and gently navigate patients, staff, and visitors intuitively from one space to another.”

Thanks to its natural colour palette, the collection now exudes ‘a contemporary, personal feel’. Comprising 16 colourways – of which 11 are completely new – the range lends itself to four colour groups: cool greys, warm greys, earthy tones, and warm browns. Forbo says that the cool and warm greys have ‘a clean, fresh, and composed aesthetic’, while the earthy tones and warm browns possess a deep and intimate characteristic.

Forbo Marmoleum linear is manufactured from 97% natural raw materials, and is reportedly ‘CO2 neutral (from cradle to gate)’ without offsetting. It is also free from plasticisers and synthetic additives, and ‘naturally bacteriostatic’ – having been independently proven to inhibit the growth and spread of infections, such as MRSA, C. difficile, and norovirus. Its Topshield advanced, two-layer water-based surface finish is designed ‘to keep floors looking good and easy to maintain year on year’.
