Estates data instantly accessible

Staff at North West Wales NHS Trust can now instantly access key information on a wide range of estates issues following the deployment of SQL Core 5 and Purchase Order software from Gramms across the Trust’s three main operating centres.

Brian Massey, head of estates operational services at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, said: “As part of our long-term departmental strategy we have been keen to have our main and remote satellite administrative centres operating a common system across the Trust network. We can now access the latest estates-related financial and operational information from any of our three operating centres, and have more flexibility in being able to offer a helpdesk facility from any combination of the administrative centres for our areas of responsibility.”

Bethan Roberts, estates operational services department Gramms project lead, added: “Implementation of the Gramms SQL-based applications has been extremely beneficial to the department and Trust in providing improved access to essential information. The deployment of the SQL-based purchase order system, with on-line authorisation of purchase orders and invoices for payment, and auto-faxing of purchase orders direct from the system, has streamlined administrative tasks, contributed significantly towards achieving a paperless system, and eliminated data double handling. The system now exports approved invoice information directly for uploading to the Trust’s financial system, ensuring prompt supplier payment.”
