Addleshaw Goddard takes major project lead

Addleshaw Goddard has reinforced its leadership in the PFI and projects sector after advising the Department of Health on the development of Nottingham NHS Trust’s £46 million treatment centre – the largest centre of its type to be built under the Department’s new Independent Sector Treatment Centre programme.

Twenty one local NHS organisations and the Department of Health signed a contract worth £203 million with Nations Healthcare to set up and run the Nottingham treatment centre for the next five years. The centre is the largest single site treatment centre so far, and is being developed on the site of the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, allowing patients to benefit from the main hospital’s clinical services and educational responsibilities. Addleshaw Goddard projects partner Sandra Humphrey, who led the company’s team, said: “This has been a fantastic project to have been involved with as it has been truly challenging at all levels, and aiming to achieve something genuinely different in the health sector. I am sure that we will look back to this time as a step change in the interaction of the public and private sectors in local health economies.”
