David Wicks thanked for significant contribution

A special tribute was paid at the recently-held Institute annual general meeting to David Wicks who had set a record as the longest-serving member of IHEEM’s Council, from which he was retiring.

Phil Nedin, who was standing down as IHEEM president, drew attention to the many ways in which David Wicks had significantly contributed to the Institute. He had served on Council since 1989, had chaired the Journal Committee since 2003, and had involvement in many other areas.

David Wicks had become well-known at annual conferences in his capacity as “official photographer”.

Although retired, his interest in healthcare engineering continues, and, in a voluntary capacity, he is engaged in maintaining and improving electrical systems at two remote hospitals in Africa.

Phil Nedin presented David Wicks with a Sheaffer fountain pen as a token of IHEEM’s appreciation of his commitment to helping the Institute advance.
