Ramboll completes multi-disciplinary science sector leadership team

Global engineering and consultancy company, Ramboll, has announced the appointment of Bernard Conroy to its science sector leadership team as Building Services (MEP) director, ‘strengthening its multi-disciplinary offer’.

He joins from Hoare Lea, and will be Ramboll’s Building Services lead within its science division. He has worked extensively in the science sector for 20 years, across higher education, government, pharmaceuticals, and commercial projects, both in the UK and internationally. His previous experience includes serving as Project director for Vectura’s new Research and Development facility at Bristol & Bath Science Park, and leading the MEP design for a new ‘world-class’ research facility for the agrochemical company, Syngenta, at its Jealott's Hill site in Bracknell. He was also involved in the design of the Institute of Life Sciences at Southampton University, and the Technopark in Moscow. He is a Chartered Engineer, and an active member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers.

Andrew Henderson, Ramboll’s Executive director for Buildings in the UK, said: “By their very nature, science buildings are hugely complex, requiring extensive expertise. We’re delighted to be welcoming Bernard on board. His appointment will help expand this specialist team, and enhance our ability to coordinate challenging requirements and deliver holistic solutions for highly serviced buildings, while ensuring we do so in the most sustainable way.”

Bernard Conroy joins Lynden Spencer-Allen and Rebecca Mortimore in Ramboll’s science sector leadership team, which offers expertise spanning strategy setting, laboratory planning and consultancy, structural, acoustic, vibration, and building services engineering.

He said “It is a tremendously exciting time for the sector, both in the UK and internationally, where Ramboll’s standing is equally strong. Being able to offer clients the multi-disciplinary expertise we now have will be hugely beneficial to delivering cohesive and integrated designs as we move towards Net Zero carbon laboratories. I’m thrilled to be part of this team, having worked alongside them on previous programmes, and seen first-hand how the Ramboll co-creation approach brings great value to clients and their projects.”

Ramboll is a global engineering, architecture, and consultancy company founded in Denmark in 1945.
