Marshall-Tufflex says its new Odyssey Biocide cable containment system is the first three compartment PVC-U cable containment system with a fully curved profile manufactured from a material with biocidal properties.
A development of its popular Odyssey cable containment system, which Marshall-Tufflex says is “a favourite” with architects and designers keen to use more aesthetically-pleasing trunking, Odyssey Biocide has been developed to neutralise bacteria like MRSA, E coli and Salmonella via a silver-based formulation added to the PVC-U extrusion process. Mixing the biocide with the PVC-U during manufacture delivers “a resilient product with an even spread of antibacterial properties” while, should the trunking get scratched, Odyssey Biocide “continues to do its job”.
Because the system looks no different to its non-antibacterial stablemate Odyssey, Marshall-Tufflex differentiates it via its packaging; it has a protective peel-off red film and a green sleeve.
