Event ‘to raise awareness of ecological challenges’

On 12 September the sustainable resource management company, Veolia, is hosting a new event at the Center Parcs Venue in Woburn Forest, ‘to raise awareness of ecological challenges such as decarbonisation, depollution, and the optimisation of the earth's resources’.

The company explained: “The one-day free-to-attend conference, VEO23, will cover how the natural ecosystems of people, planet, and society are interconnected, and the practical solutions that can balance human progress and counter climate change.”

Featuring industry experts and guest speaker presentations the event will also workshop ways to help solve the UK environmental challenges, Veolia says it will also ‘demonstrate how commercially viable solutions can be implemented using innovative technologies’. An accompanying exhibition ‘to widen awareness of the sustainability issues society and businesses face’ will include interactive stalls where visitors can physically interact with the topics through virtual reality, games, video, and a climate planetarium.

Matthew Osmond, Veolia director of Marketing & Business Development (Industrial, Water & Energy) said: “To counter climate change and environmental impacts, the world needs to transform how we manage resources and the energy and water supplies that are vital to businesses, the public sector, and communities. The key to delivering innovation is to do things differently, manage change, and invent the solutions of tomorrow in a collaborative way – but this must also be done so that it preserves financial viability, and delivers the resources to support industry and the public sector. Our VEO23 event will help to identify the barriers, and solve them using the best practices and technologies now available. By working together we can deliver a low-carbon future, and make ecological transformation a reality.”
