Telephonetics is approved NHS supplier

Speech recognition specialist Telephonetics has been included on the national framework agreement as a speech technology supplier to the NHS, by the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency (NHS PASA).

NHS PASA provides a central catalogue that NHS telecoms managers can access to identify potential suppliers of technology and services. Suppliers on the national framework agreement have been through an EU compliant procurement exercise and have agreed to NHS Terms and Conditions. By using a supplier on the agreement NHS Trusts can avoid a long tendering process for supplies (with certain exceptions) and can also benefit from favourable rates that may not have been previously available. Paul Welham, telephonetics director of sales and marketing, explained: “We are strongly committed to working within the public sector and especially the NHS, so we are delighted that PASA has recognised the role of speech recognition telephony applications in helping to streamline the NHS – while at the same time improving telecommunications services to patients and NHS staff alike.” Telephonetics’ NHS solutions including the ContactPortal, as well as the Intelligent Messaging System (TIMS) and an automated Medical Results Service are already used by a number of leading Trusts including the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Lothian University Hospitals NHS Trust, Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Trust and Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust.
