Version 1, ‘a global leader in digital transformation’, has been awarded a national contract to support The Health Service Executive (HSE) in delivering ‘digitally enabled’ healthcare services across Ireland.
The two organisations say the partnership aligns with Digital for Care 2030, HSE’s ‘strategic vision for modernising healthcare through technology’. Under the contract, Version 1 will collaborate with HSE Technology and Transformation ‘to implement modern digital solutions that enhance collaboration, communication, and data sharing’ among healthcare professionals. Version 1 says these advancements ‘will improve care coordination, streamline decision-making, and drive greater efficiency across the healthcare system’.
Digital for Care 2030 is Ireland’s strategic plan to modernise health and social care through digital innovation. The HSE’s Digital Health Strategic Implementation Roadmap includes the aim of equipping healthcare professionals with digital capabilities, access to the information needed, and collaborative tools, ‘to deliver optimal care when and where it is needed’. The HSE says this will result in improved coordination of care and better decision-making which optimises efficiency, collaboration, and productivity.
Kevin Kelly, head of the AI and Automation Centre of Excellence at HSE, said: “HSE’s vision is to create better health outcomes through a digitally enabled environment, so we are on a journey to give our workforce the digital tools, connectivity, and enhanced digital skills required to deliver the right care, in the right place, at the right time. In Version 1 we have a partner with the expertise to not just deliver technology solutions, but one with a deep understanding of the challenges we face, and the importance of what we are aiming to achieve in the context of Digital for Care 2030.”
The three-year contract was established through an Office of Government Procurement (OGP) Framework.
