Marshall-Tufflex says its new Bio Trucking Solutions antimicrobial trunking system has “created a huge amount of interest”, with a number of healthcare Trusts discussing its potential with the manufacturer.
Bio Trunking Solutions is a PVC-U cable management system impregnated with a silver-based antimicrobial agent “proven to render harmless many of the most virulent bacteria”, for example MRSA, E. coli and Salmonella. If a carrier touches the treated PVC-U, bacteria transferred to the trunking begins to die, minimising cross-contamination risk. The “bug-busting” system is available on most of Marshall-Tufflex’s PVC-U cable containment profiles. The company said: “When coupled with our all-curved Odyssey trunking, it provides a tremendous opportunity to minimise the risk of cross-contamination. A clutter-free, curved trunking is far easier to clean, and reduces the opportunity for bacteria to grow.”
