BOC Medical took the opportunity of the Healthcare Ireland 2009 conference and exhibition in Dublin earlier this month to discuss and demonstrate a wide range of medical gas products and services.
Afforded a particular focus was the company’s new range of CARNET equipment, which includes its unique "FireSafe" nozzles and flowmeters, which automatically arrest oxygen flow in the event of a fire in a patient’s cannula or oxygen mask, thus dramatically reducing risk both to patients and healthcare personnel.
The company’s specialist personnel also demonstrated the Columbus infrastructure management system, a software system designed to help organisations manage their medical gas systems and other building services. The system enables users to” transform AutoCAD as fitted drawings into a dynamic database, allowing component interconnectivity and allocation of asset history, information and maintenance tasks”.
