A further category of membership – University Affiliate – is being launched by the Institute, aimed at the engineering departments of universities, primarily to provide a link between academia and industry.
By sending a copy of Health Estate Journal to each faculty library, as well as to selected professional departmental staff, it is hoped that the profile of healthcare estate engineering will be raised. The full range of benefits available to both Company and NHS Trust Affiliates will be available to University Affiliates, including attendance at seminars, conferences and branch events, CPD opportunities, and exchange of best practice. Any IHEEM member with contacts in university engineering or building services departments may wish to recommend University Affiliate membership of the Institute.
