Rada – the commercial division of Mira Showers – has a technical pedigree dating back to 1921, and has been long established as the expert in showering and washroom controls for healthcare, education and leisure applications.
It is further a pioneer in digital thermostatic mixing valve technology; as exemplified by its new Acu. Acu – an evolution of Rada Sense, the world’s first digital TMV3-approved mixing valve for healthcare – represents a new generation of digital valves, designed to bring effective non-touch controlled hand-washing facilities to the total range of healthcare applications. Offering an enhanced aesthetic – which assists in de-institutionalising the hospital environment – Acu delivers improved hand-hygiene, water control, and management. Dedicated to washbasin applications, Acu offers programmable maximum, minimum, and default temperatures, and features infra-red, non-touch operation for on/off and temperature adjustment. It also has duty flush and thermal disinfection capabilities – important for Legionella control – complemented by temperature and data logging functions. Both the spout and controls are inset into proprietary wall panel systems and can be accessed, programmed, and maintained, without the need to demount the panels. BuildCert TMV3-approved and conforming to NHS Estates Model Engineering Specification D08 (i.e. Type 3 or TMV3 valves), Acu also goes beyond compliance with HTM 04-01, HBN 26, HBN 57 and HTM 64; and meets the requirements of BS 7942 for care homes and establishments with vulnerable client groups.
