Ten pre-owned steel-framed modules recycled and refurbished for the project, enabling it to be competed in just 11 weeks, form a new theatre training centre at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne – reportedly the North of England’s first clinical training facility of its kind.
Foremans Relocatable Building Systems has provided the new singlestorey building, which enables staff from across the North to participate in the latest interactive simulated clinical training, for the Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The ultra-short building programme allowed the Trust to bring the facility into use as quickly as possible. The building features clinical education rooms with a control room for each, seminar rooms, offices, a storage facility, and a category 6 containment laboratory. Foremans also supplied an audio door control system, security alarms and fire detection system, and implemented a traffic management plan.
