Sodexo has won its second FM contract from one of UK’s largest NHS Trusts – the Barking, Havering and Redbridge University NHS Trust – securing a fiveyear contract with King George Hospital, Ilford, to provide total facilities management (TFM) services.
Worth around £35 million in total turnover, it is Sodexo’s first TFM contract with the NHS outside of its PFI contracts, and will see some 360 staff provide services to the 455-bed hospital. King George Hospital serves a population of around 700,000 people from a wide range of ethnic and social groups, making it one of England’s largest NHS Trusts. Sodexo has provided TFM services to the Trust’s PFI Queen’s Hospital in Romford since it opened in October 2006. Under the King George Hospital contract it will provide services including catering, estates and energy management, grounds and gardens, security, traffic management, cleaning, pest control, and portering.
