Doncaster Community Solutions has received full planning permission to build two new healthcare centres, jointly costing over £14 million, in the Dearne Valley and Doncaster town centre.
The four-storey £8 million Town Hub project (see artist’s impression) will see current buildings on the site demolished to make way for a futuristically designed development hosting a wide range of family doctor and other services. The £6 million new Conisbrough Health Centre will be built on the site of the village’s current health centre at Garden’s Lane. Around three times bigger, it will provide a new base for the Conisbrough Group Practice and Conisbrough Medical Practice, along with additional health services. Building work should start on both schemes early this year and be completed in Autumn 2011.
