Expertise sought for NHS task force

Experienced healthcare estates engineers are being sought by the NHS Supply Chain in an advisory capacity as part of its plans to deliver a new national agreement for operating lights and ceiling service units during this year.

The organisation’s Capital Medical Equipment Team, which is currently researching this specialist product area, explains that during the OJEU tender process it evaluates suppliers on both a financial and non-financial basis, a procedure requiring the help and support of a group of experts in their own area who act as a “taskforce”, for instance assisting in the creation of the evaluation questions. For this project the team wishes to recruit “a medical building/ estates engineer who could offer advice on the kinds of problems that arise and the challenges that are faced at Trust level on this kind of equipment”. The role will entail “a couple of conference calls”, followed by one full day out to a geographically agreed location “to go through all questions and agree them”. It is unpaid, but travel and meal expenses, and any necessary overnight accommodation, will be covered. IHEEM members interested in getting involved should contact the Institute’s administration officer Danielle Silman: email: Danielle.silman@iheem.org.uk. T: 023 9282 3186.
