NHS Hampshire and Solent Community Solutions Ltd (SCS) have announced the completion of the new Fareham Community Hospital, which will begin delivering services in early June.
Staff and visitors have praised both the external appearance and internal ambience, particularly commenting on the “light and airy atmosphere”, enhanced by courtyards, use of sunpipes, and generous window provision. The hospital is designed to complement the surrounding landscape, with the layout based on a curved entrance loggia feeding directly into departmental circulation routes, easing orientation. George Anderson, general manager, Solent Community Solutions, said: “The building has been constructed to very high standards of compliance, with energy efficiency and flexibility of use key.” Architects were Broadway Malyan, and main contractors, Morgan Ashurst.
