Carrow Road, home of Norwich City FC, will be the venue for an evening meeting of IHEEM’s East Anglia branch on 1 July, at which Chris Parker, IHEEM recruitment and membership manager, will highlight the potential for future activities for a branch that, by its own admission, has not been especially active in recent years.
He elaborated: “The meeting’s aim will be very much to get this particular branch back on its feet, and to give it the impetus it needs to go forward, reflecting requests from a number of local members who recognise the need for a more active programme of Institute activities in the region, and the value of an active branch. “We are especially keen for local IHEEM members, and prospective new members, to come along and share their views.” The 1 July programme (the meeting will commence at 5.00 pm with refreshments) will include a focus on the issues requiring consideration for those involved in the specification and design of bedhead services by specialist Static Systems Group (HEJ – February 2010). The CPD-approved presentation, based on HTM 08-03, will cover areas including: design considerations; bedhead services trunking and equipment; nurse call systems; entertainment facilities, and systems integration. After the presentation attendees will have the chance to tour the ground. Chris Parker added: “We would encourage as many as possible from the East Anglia region to gather for what should be an informative, enjoyable evening, and an excellent opportunity both to meet up with existing contacts, and to make useful new ones. We will be seeking a number of local committed members to form a committee that will take the branch forward with the help and support of IHEEM’s head office staff.”
