The Healthcare Cleaning Professionals Association (AHCP), which has over 700 existing members, has opened two new branches in Ireland.
Serving healthcare cleaners in Ireland, the branches, in Belfast and Dublin, will cover Northern and Southern Ireland respectively, and have been established following a meetings with top-level domestic, estates, and facilities managers from hospitals in Ireland at last year’s Proclean exhibition. The organisation said: “Given the present concerns over the spread of ‘swine flu’, the announcement could not come at a better time. This is the first time AHCP has established branches outside England, Scotland, and Wales, and reflects a growing awareness throughout Ireland of the need to implement state-of-the-art healthcare cleaning techniques and practices to raise cleanliness standards and lower the risk of infection.”
