Zip expands range as it ‘bucks trend’

Zip Heaters, the instant boiling and chilled filtered water system specialist, says it is “bucking the trend of the economic downturn”, and has significantly extended its HydroTap range for commercial applications.

Its new HydroTap All-in-One models can deliver boiling, chilled, hot, and cold (ambient) water from one tap. Up to 60, 160, or 200 boiling cups/hour, and up to 85, 125 or 175 chilled glasses/hour can be delivered, while feature “free-flow” technology ensures cold, filtered water continues to flow even during periods of high usage when “chilled glasses per hour” capacity is exceeded. Vented tap models mix boiling and cold water and do not require a service connection, while nonvented taps can be connected to an existing hot water supply. Water delivery is now via a longer reach, 120° swivel spout. Boiling and chilled water control levers remain at the top of the tap, while below, and to one side, a separate lever controls delivery and flow of hot, cold, or mixed warm water. Energy-saving features include a low light “sleep” mode, which monitors local lighting levels and automatically activates whenever local lighting is turned offer. Temperature-stored water then gradually reduces to 65°C, at which it is maintained until further draw-off or switching back on of lighting. Also unveiled was a new range of HydroTap Plus taps for providing instant boiling and chilled water for “higher demand locations”. Their higher-rated elements provide a faster boiling water recovery rate, of 200 cups/hour. For use in industrial/ institutional environments, including high secure mental health facilities, Zip unveiled two new “heavy duty” HydroTap models featuring top-touch buttons. With a sturdy design, these can be sink or font-mounted, and deliver boiling and chilled water in the same capacities as the HydroTap Plus range. The Institutional HyrdoTaps feature side-touch buttons and a construction that prevents removal from their base. They are already in use in a number of secure Australian facilities.
