The ETB recently launched its new statistical digest, Engineering UK.
The work presented in the latest digest reinforces the view that professional engineers, scientists and technicians will play a major role in the future growth of the UK economy.
Engineering UK provides data and information which will inform policy makers, industry and careers advisors about the realities of careers in the fields of science, engineering and technology (SET) and the engineering profession in particular.
There is focus on secondary education, further education, vocational education, training, higher education, graduate recruitment, salary, professional registration and engineers in the economy. The guide concludes with a section on public perceptions of science, engineering and technology, and a chapter of careers-related issues.
Dr Barry Cleasby of the ETB said: “The publication of Engineering UK is part of our effort to provide impartial statistical evidence about trends in SET for the benefit of the whole SET community.”
