Asbestos contractor expands

IHEEM member Steve Shutler has formed part of a team which has purchased licensed asbestos contracting company Burton Environmental Services (BES). The other two new owners are existing directors Martin Drury and Ron Cowen.

Steve Shutler, who is also a chartered health and safety practitioner, worked in asbestos consultancy for many years and intends to use his accumulated knowledge of asbestos management to good effect within the contracting sector.

BES moved to new and larger premises in Burton-upon-Trent at the beginning of this year. The new site will allow for BES’s continued expansion in the asbestos abatement industry. Quality of work and responsiveness to client needs are the company’s primary aims and this approach has enabled it to secure current contracts valued in excess of £2 million.

The company holds an unrestricted HSE licence for work with asbestos containing materials and the prestigious Quality Award from the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA).
