Membership support deal for Edenbrook

Edenbrook, one of the UK’s fastest growing independent technology companies, has announced the signing of a two year contract with BUPA worth over £5 million to develop new systems to support its membership business.

Following a successful project to reengineer BUPA International’s systems to a Service Oriented Architecture using Microsoft’s .NET framework and an Oracle database, Edenbrook was engaged in December 2004 to complete an analysis of requirements for BUPA UK’s SME business. On successful completion of this work, Edenbrook has been awarded a contract for the delivery of the system for this part of the business and then to extend it to cover the whole of BUPA UK’s insurance and membership services.

“We chose Edenbrook because of its extensive experience of enterprise solution delivery. Its modern approach to development coupled with detailed technical and business understanding ensures we are able to achieve our challenging business and IT transformation timescales while ensuring a high quality system that meets the real needs of the business,” said John Lister, chief information officer, BUPA.

Steve Anderson, director of Edenbrook, commented, “I am excited about the opportunity to transform the systems landscape for BUPA. By assisting it with the business change along with the design of a technology solution that encompasses enterprise best of breed Microsoft technologies we feel that BUPA will be able to recognise real benefits immediately and have a platform for the future.”
