Health PFI specialist Ryhurst in partnership with Barclays Capital, has recently completed and handed over state-of-the-art facilities at Blackberry Hill Hospital in Bristol to the Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. The handover follows the completion of the first of 14 facilities on six sites, forming a £64.5 million PFI project known as the Avon Project, the UK’s largest mental health PFI to date.
Work on site has been completed by Ryhurst's partner, Rydon Construction, part of the Sussex-based Rydon Group. Property maintenance services will be provided by Rydon Property Maintenance, the Rydon Group's rapidly growing property maintenance arm.
Once completed, the Avon Project will provide specifically designed mental health facilities across six sites serving Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
Director of Ryhurst, Alison Montague said: "The completion and handover of the outstanding facilities at Blackberry Hill is a significant milestone in this ambitious project. We now look forward to continuing our work with Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and all our other partners on this project to deliver all the facilities by November 2006."
