While renewing and refurbishing its coal fired Energy Centre, Doncaster Royal Infirmary has installed three prefabricated and temporary burner/boiler units to maintain the hospital’s supply of heat and steam during the re-build programme.
The combination of Dunphy and Byworth equipment is ideal for prefabricated projects as the combined footprint of the plant is such that there is no overlap on skids. Both pieces of equipment are compact and space saving and fit comfortably and safely into boiler houses.
The high combustion efficiency of the burners and the resultant high boiler efficiency means that carbon emissions are amongst the lowest in the industry. The burners are designed on the axial air flow concept which ensures high combustion efficiency across a wide turndown range as well as lower fuel consumption. The motor is encapsulated within a monobloc aluminium burner housing ensuring ultra quiet operation without any additional outlay for expensive acoustic shrouds.
