Following its successful participation in the same event last November, IHEEM will again be involved in the National Engineering and Construction Recruitment Exhibition, to be held on 6 and 7 May at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.
As in November, IHEEM will be joining with a number of other Institutions in the Professional Development Hub, an initiative of the Engineering Council which promotes the importance of initial and continuing professional development for engineers, and of registration of such personnel at all levels. IHEEM recruitment and membership manager Chris Parker commented: “It was a pleasure to join with colleagues taking part in the Professional Development Hub last November, and to engage with many young engineers in the initial stage of their careers. It was this experience that highlighted the need for a Student membership category for IHEEM, and I am delighted that Council has taken the opportunity to introduce this new membership category (see also page 7). It should prove invaluable in speaking to prospective members in Birmingham in May, and at other events in the future. “There is the opportunity for IHEEM members to be involved in this initiative, and any who are in easy reach of Birmingham, and would be willing to attend the NECR event and share their own experiences, will be very welcome.” To register interest, contact Chris Parker.
