The team from Howorth Air Technology has been stacking up the Airmiles this year, having already attended several major pharmaceutical and healthcare exhibitions around the world.
In February, Adrian Parkin, managing director, travelled to San Diego to attend the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons) Exhibition, where Howorth united with its US distribution partner, Trist ate, to show a full new model Exflow 28 ultra clean canopy. More than 30,000 visitors attended to learn about the latest orthopaedic equipment, research, and studies. The exhibition united over 525 exhibitors in more than 258,000 ft² of floor space.
In the same month, Tom Ford, sales director, attended the Arab Health Exhibition and Congress in Dubai, where the Howorth brand was warmly welcomed. The exhibition is the largest healthcare exhibition in the Middle East, and the second largest in the world. Now in its 36th year, it provides a platform for the world’s leading manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors, to meet the medical and scientific community from the Middle East and beyond. This year, it hosted over 2,700 exhibitors from 60 countries, and more than 60,000 healthcare professionals from across the world.
At the end of March, Adrian Parkin, Dave Jackson, pharma director and general
manager, and Michael Mellor, pharma technical director, attended Interphex 2011 at the Jakob K Javits Conference Centre in New York, where Howorth shared a stand with SMI. The event brought together more than 11,200 professionals from 48 states and 47 countries, and was an important opportunity for the company to relaunch its Pharma division in the US. An excellent stand position and the giveaway of an iPad 2 made sure that lots of people stopped by to see what Howorth had to offer. So many leads were generated that Michael Mellor is flying out again soon to visit the 24 companies who expressed an interest in the products and services that Howorth Pharma provides.
“As the British healthcare market continues to face challenging times, the importance of establishing international links and working hard to develop a foothold in overseas markets has never been greater,” said Adrian Parkin. “Howorth will continue to put every effort into promoting both its medical and pharmaceutical products throughout the world, proving that British innovation and manufacture are truly world class.”
