ISG, the construction, management, and fit-out services specialist, has secured a “fast-track” £1.3 million project with Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to create a new Andrology department and Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) at the city’s St Mary’s Hospital.
ISG is returning to the hospital following an earlier £2 million project, in which it delivered a new IVF unit at the 100-year-old, grade II-listed building. Both the Andrology department and SARC will relocate to two separate wings on the hospital’s ground and second floor. ISG will create high specification clinical accommodation for the two departments. Minor demolition works will entail removing internal walls to create space for specialist equipment, with an associated requirement to take down several chimney stacks at roof level. Scheduled for completion this month, the work is being undertaken within a busy “live” environment.
