The Combustion Engineering Association (CEA) says a new guidance document, INDG436, “Safe Management of Industrial Steam and Hot Water Boilers”, replacing existing guidance document.
PM5, will be published on 25 October at a conference in Stratfordon- Avon, accompanied by a joint HSE/CEA and Safety Assessment Federation practical guide to assist owners and operators of commercial and industrial boiler plant. After consultation with the HSE and the Carbon Trust, the CEA is also to publish a new guidance document for organisations considering switching to biomass fuels in the light of recent Government initiatives encouraging use of sustainable energy sources. The Association says there have been “several accidents, and at least one fatality” recently during biomass installations. The guidance will be unveiled at a launch workshop on 8 December in Leeds.
