Training provider’s new FM division

Develop Training has launched a dedicated Facilities Management Division, which replaces its existing EM&BS (Electrical Mechanical and Building Services) Division.

Already offering over 100 accredited courses developed specifically for building service engineers and facilities managers, the company says the move is “a result of a massive shift”, with 98% of its courses now attended by staff from FM operators and contractors. It added: “This is due partly to the increase in outsourcing to FM providers. There has also been a merging of hard and soft FM, with both in-house managers and contractors becoming involved and responsible for both areas, leading to increasing demand for training.” Develop Training is also introducing a new Facilities Management Consultancy service, and has launched an ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) apprenticeship in facilities management for those already employed in an FM role seeking a recognised qualification.
