ASSA ABLOY has enhanced its extensive door closer portfolio with the new DC840 (pictured) and DC300.
“Particularly suited to large-scale applications,” the CE-marked DC840 cam motion closer “enables doors to be easily opened by the young, elderly, or those with a disability”, assisting in fulfilling the duties required under The Equality Act (EA), specifically BS8300 and Approved Document M of The Building Regulations. It also has a smaller footprint than other ASSA ABLOY concealed door closers. A new rack and pinion variation, the DC300 closer offers “a more costeffective solution for lower traffic doors”. It features a delayed closing facility, while its standard footprint and adjustable template facilitate installation. Both closers are available with a “hold open” device, and feature “back check” to prevent damage when in situ. The DC840’s cam motion design helps reduce the opening force required at the start of the cycle, while its variable closing force has an EN 1-4 rating, making it suitable for applications including doors on fire escape routes.
