Helpdesk successfully streamlines estate management

When estates office manager Philippa McLeod was tasked with implementing a brand new helpdesk to manage estates services for all three of Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust’s sites, it soon became apparent that there was going to be a lot of work involved.

“Historically, each site looked after its own estates operations, said Philippa McLeod, “but our goal was to merge the separate departments into one centrally managed helpdesk to look after the whole Trust. After considering the possible solutions, an implementation plan was produced in conjunction with Gramms, and I’m pleased to say that the new Gramms SQL system is providing exactly what we need.”

With three very busy sites, Sandwell General and City Hospital is the largest provider of acute patient services in the Midlands, and also provides continuing care, rehabilitation and respite care from Rowley Regis Community Hospital.
