With over 80 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of electrical safety systems, Bender UK claims to be a leading provider of Isolated Power Systems (IPS), UPS, surgeons’ panels, and complete operating theatre infrastructure packages, to the UK hospital market.
Having listened to client requirements, Bender launched in Manchester its new “industry first” surgeons’ control panel with integral 22 inch touchscreen. The touchscreen forms the latest panels’ “engine”, incorporating the majority of controls and alarms for the theatre environment but with the benefit of a 67% increase in viewing area when compared with similar products on the market.
The increased screen size affords Bender’s in house software specialists further scope to tailor the graphics and layout to the exact needs of the client. As with earlier panel designs, any non-touchscreen compatible components are mounted adjacent to the display screen, behind an antimicrobial membrane.
Bender, which has over 60 engineers working in its R&D department, also released a new range of high efficiency, “industry-leading”, “green” IPS transformers which reportedly significantly reduce the overall life costs of an IPS installation. This “ground-breaking” technology will offer through life savings across the whole power range of the transformers, and should, Bender says, appeal to all engineers responsible for making energy savings.
Reflecting on this year’s success, Steve Mason, managing director of Bender UK, said: “Our stand at the IHEEM event was incredibly busy this year when we showcased our new transformers and 22 inch touch screen control panel. In just twelve months our R&D team has managed to design, test, and deliver, even more industry-leading products, which are testament to the continued growth and success of the organisation. With quality and reliability at the heart of all Bender product developments, we will continue to offer our unrivalled standard 5-year warranty to give our clients complete confidence in the Bender brand.”
Building on its reputation for engineering excellence, and in response to a growing customer demand, Bender continues to offer complete turnkey equipment packages for theatres, including operating lamps and pendant systems.
Working in close partnership with selected manufacturers, the Bender turnkey package offers a fully integrated solution, all from a single trusted source.
Steve Mason added: “Since the show many new and existing customers have been in touch to discuss the possibility of retrofitting our new ‘green’ transformers into their existing Bender systems to take full advantage of the commercial benefits this technology offers.”
Following handover, Bender provides ongoing technical support through its national network of service and maintenance engineers. A range of UK-wide service options are available to maintain the Bender-supplied equipment in accordance with HTM and other relevant standards.
