Leaderflush Shapland doorsets have been specified for Doncaster Royal Infirmary’s new Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
The new Children’s Ward and Observation Unit has 41 beds, including two HDU beds, and improved facilities for parents wishing to stay with children overnight. Main contractor, Togel Contractors, specified Leaderflush Shapland’s Designer, Extended Performance, and Plasform doorset ranges to meet performance characteristics of 60 minutes fire resistance and 30 RwdB sound reduction. All Leaderflush Shapland veneered doorsets incorporate as standard in the wood lacquer the company’s Hygienilac antimicrobial finish – said to kill most bacteria, including C. difficile, Salmonella, and E. coli. Plasform doorsets, with rounded postformed edges that minimise the build-up of airborne particles, and can be easily wiped or washed clean, have been selected in colours including vanilla, marine blue, Clementine, and lime. Doorsets were constructed using EnduraCor, Leaderflush Shapland’s exclusive engineered performance core, which has a severe duty rating that suits hospital environments where doors are subject to frequent passage of heavy trolleys, beds, and other bulky items. High fire resistance, sound reduction, and HTM 69-compliant smoke control, are other features.
