Healthcare construction specialist and Portakabin subsidiary Yorkon will be launching a series of innovations in modular building at HEFMA this year.
This alternative to conventional rectangular modules also allows more efficient development of curved and irregular sites, and greater design flexibility for architects and specifiers. The new shaped module is based on the same structural frame as the standard Yorkon system and so has the reassurance of warranties, independent certifications and approvals.
The company will also be presenting a wider range of cladding options for the first time, including cedar boarding, composite metal panels, terracotta, render and brickwork, enabling designers to achieve further architectural variety with off-site construction.
The developments combine innovative and inspirational architectural design with all the benefits of modular building – improved lead times, reduced disruption, predictability of cost and programme, safer sites and much better quality.
