Fireco has launched a special Dorgard Effects range of finishes, ‘specifically designed for the more discerning architectural interiors market’. The new sleek designs come in a range of ultra-high gloss finishes, including Mahogany, Beech, Oak, and Ash, designed to blend into a fire door.
Dorgard, already installed ‘in thousands of care homes, hotels, restaurants, offices, and schools throughout the UK and Europe’, enables fire doors to be legally and safely kept open, as it allows the door to close when the fire alarm sounds, preventing the spread of fire and smoke. Installed onto the bottom of the fire door in under five minutes, Dorgard ‘listens’ for a continuous fire alarm of 65 dBA or higher. Features of the wireless unit include ‘fail-to-safe technology’; enhanced access throughout buildings in line with the Equality Act 2010; BS EN 1155 compliance; and acceptance by the Fire and Rescue Service, alongside an automatic night-time release facility; BS 7273-4 category B compliance, and adjustable sensitivity.
