Already providing energy services to 6,159 hospitals across 40 countries, and with 80 years’ experience in healthcare sector energy management, Dalkia claims to be ‘a market-leader for energy efficiency projects that provide savings on operational costs and reductions in CO2’.
By integrating the most appropriate heating, electricity, and standby generating systems for a hospital site, Dalkia says it can ‘provide solutions that best match the hospital’s requirements utilising the latest developments, including modern CHP systems and renewable technologies’. The company said: “Providing the best possible healthcare service, while maintaining complex infrastructures, is a challenge for any hospital. Furthermore, new environmental targets and energy legislation mean resources, and often investment, are vital to enable these facilities to benefit from modern, energyefficient technologies.” In a recent illustration of its expertise, Dalkia is to provide a £2.5 million energy plant upgrade to Southampton Hospital, to include 2 MWE of CHP, and a combination waste heat and fired boiler to deliver heating, hot water, and electricity, as part of a 15-year contract. Dalkia will design and install the new plant, and manage its operation and maintenance.
