A selection of what Pegler Yorkshire dubs ‘revolutionary’ antimicrobial copper hospital taps will be shown on the company’s stand.
Tap product market manager, Mike Dickinson, explained: “The inherent and continuous ability of copper to kill bacteria is the driving force behind the development of our antimicrobial copper taps. We believe we are the UK’s first company to launch a product of this type. The results of research conducted by specialists worldwide have shown that copper’s antimicrobial benefits far outweigh those of any other available material.” The Performa range of healthcare taps, mixers, showers, thermostatic mixing valves, and associated products (photo shows Performa antimicrobial copper tall basin taps), will also be exhibited. Claimed benefits and features include: ‘protection against bacterial infection’ (the range includes ‘nontouch’ taps to help prevent healthcareacquired infections); TMV3-approved thermostatic mixing valves, offering ‘increased protection against sudden sharp increases in hot water temperature’; self-closing flow controls, and ‘easy operation’. Pegler added: “Innovations such as electronic, and knee or elbow-operated lever flow controls, and lever-action basin taps, are essential for people with restricted hand movement.”
