ICS Cool Energy re-locates Birmingham operations

ICS Cool Energy, a specialist in complete temperature control solutions for manufacturing process and facilities applications, has re-located its Birmingham operations to a new, purpose-built facility in Erdington Industrial Park.

It says the move reflects its long-term commitment to growth and expanding its presence and capabilities in the Midlands, a region recognised for its strong industrial manufacturing base, but also across the UK. ICS Cool Energy also has bases in Totton near Southampton and Bradford.

Dave Palmer, Country leader, ICS Cool Energy UK, said: “By enhancing our service capability in one of the UK’s most important industrial regions, ICS Cool Energy is positioning itself for continuous growth and reinforcing our commitment to delivering fast, flexible, and sustainable temperature control solutions. This is more than a new building; it’s a long-term investment in how we serve our customers. We’re strengthening our ability to respond quickly, deliver efficiently, and support our customers with the level of service they expect from us.”

The new ‘full-scale’ depot, warehouse, and modern office space total more than 42,000 ft2, and have been designed to mirror the operational capacity of ICS Cool Energy’s headquarters in Totton. By consolidating equipment hire, service, and sales operations under one roof and closer to customers in the region, the facility is expected to reduce lead times, improve logistics, and increase the availability of units for hire and purchase.

The site features racking for efficient storage of process-dedicated i-Chillers, as well as a Cold Store units area, supporting quick deployment of units. A dedicated production space has also been designated to allow ICS Cool Energy engineers to tailor equipment to individual customer requirements. The Birmingham depot will also include a testing infrastructure to verify the performance of i-Chiller and heat pump units.

Selected for its strategic location and high environmental standards, the new site has achieved BREEAM Excellent certification. Sustainability features include solar energy generation, water catchment systems, and electric vehicles charging stations.
