Designer and manufacturer of specialist thermostatic mixing taps, showers, and thermostatic mixing valves for healthcare applications, Horne Engineering, will demonstrate its new ‘Water Quality Compliance Kit’, which, when used in conjunction with its Optitherm thermostatic tap, can reportedly ‘significantly improve water quality issues’.
The kit includes a Flushing Kit, for periodically flushing the water supply to remove debris and excess biofilm to drain. The kit is also ‘useful for water sample collection for analytical purposes’. Completing the kit, a Thermal Disinfection Adaptor is used for sanitising the internal surfaces of the Optitherm thermostatic tap using the ‘60°C or above’ hot water supply (thermal image shows the tap surface at 60°C during the disinfection process). In a recent hospital test, Horne says the compliance kit achieved a colony-forming unit (cfu) count reduction ‘from 300+ to zero’. A number of design improvements to Horne’s range of surface-mounted shower panels, said to further enhance their suitability for secure and assisted settings, will also be shown.
