For refurbishment work in noise-sensitive environments where minimal disruption is required, Marcrist International says there is ‘no better alternative’ to its Marcrist BF850 SilentMAX diamond blade.
The diamond construction tool manufacturer says it ‘takes the issue of the occupational noise-induced hearing loss very seriously’, and has invested ‘a considerable amount of time and money’ to develop the diamond blade to combat the problem. It explained: “Under current UK law, the maximum permissible noise on a construction site is 87 dB (A), and conventional 230 mm diamond blades emit noise between 105 and 107 dB (A) during cutting. The BF850 SilentMAX generates up to 16 times less noise in all diameters.” Marcrist added: “Contractors are legally responsible for ensuring that any noise is controlled. If there is no available technical solution, and no other method of reducing the noise, they must ensure there is a noise exclusion zone. At 107 dB the required zone would be larger in surface area than the Wembley football pitch.”
