BeaconMedaes – which claims to be the world's leading supplier of medical gas pipeline equipment (MGPS) – manufactures, design, installs, and maintains medical air plant, medical vacuum plant, AGS components, manifolds, and pipeline components to HTM 02-01 standards.
The company, which also supplies trunking and pendants, said: “Certification to ISO-13485 quality management, ISO-14001 environmental management, and OHSAS-18001 occupational health and safety management standards, underlines our commitment to high quality services and products, as well to reducing our environmental impact, and maintaining a safe and healthy workforce. Our products are CE marked as per the stipulations of the Medical Devices Directive, further demonstrating our commitment to quality, and enabling us to stand out from our competitors.”
The company says that it is frequently involved in the early planning stages on hospital new-build and refurbishment projects, where it can offer its specialist advice on the design of new systems. BeaconMedæs adds: “Our installation team is pre-qualified through Safecontractor, CHAS, and Constructionline, while following installation we can provide preventative maintenance contracts and emergency repair services. Medical gas service and support, including full mainland coverage, and emergency 24 hour call-out, seven days a week, is at the heart of our offering to customers.”
ES Controller upgrade kit
BeaconMedæs and Atlas Copco have recently combined their expertise to develop a ‘state-of-the-art’ upgrade kit for medical plant systems, the ES Central Plant Controller and Elektronikon Mk 5 local compressor / pump controller. The company said: Now upgrading your medi¬cal air or vacuum system couldn’t be easier.”
The ES Controller ‘ensures economic operation’ of the air purifier, as well as control of the compressors (air) or pumps (vacuum), and can be connected to a hospital’s LAN computer network, enabling live plant status monitoring from any PC. The ES software, and an additional PDP sensor, are said to enable energy savings of up to 90% on purge air losses, with a typical payback of around two years (‘depending on application, compressor/dryer size, and load capacity’). Users can also add an additional VSD compressor to their system ‘for increased capacity, and additional energy-saving benefits’.
