Ingenieur Hospital Schweiz, the Swiss hospital engineering organisation, and organiser of the IFHE (International Federation of Hospital Engineering) Europe’s 5th European Conference for Hospital Engineering, to be held in Bern next April, has reiterated its call (HEJ – April 2012), for abstracts for potential papers.
The professional topics to be discussed at the conference, which will be held at Bern’s Kursaal Culture & Congress-Center from 10-12 April 2013, will span ‘the main technical and infrastructure issues with which hospitals find themselves confronted at present: sustainable development and energy, planning, architectural design and masterplanning, information and communication technology, hospital hygiene, maintenance and operational management, biomedical equipment, risk and quality management, and developments in the healthcare sector’. Each presentation will last for 20 minutes, followed by 5-10 minutes for questions from the audience. A scientific committee comprising representatives from a number of member countries will select the papers. Potential speakers should submit a one (A4) page abstract in English as a Microsoft ‘Word’ file, together with their name, title, position held, and address, as soon as possible, by e-mail, to: tomas.bucher@crr-suva.ch with a copy to ihs-gs@ihs.ch The final text of papers will need to be submitted by 1 February, 2013.
