An independent review service from the British Safety Council that formally checks and benchmarks how well an organisation’s occupational health and safety systems and procedures are being implemented at individual sites is now available for the health and social care sectors.
The Independent Systems Review examines the effectiveness of an organisation’s health and safety arrangements at either a single site or multiple locations, comparing what is happening against the employer’s own agreed standards, policies, and procedures. Designed to help organisations ensure their health and safety management systems are effective, the service includes a ‘user-friendly’ report featuring recommendations for improvement, and an ‘action planning table’. The review takes at least half a day, depending on the site’s size and nature, and the number of locations checked. For more information, visit: www.britsafe.org/systemsreview
