A free-to-participate in online webinar taking place at 6 pm on 14 November, and aimed at healthcare engineers and healthcare estates personnel, will examine the topic of ‘Health threats from ventilation and air conditioning’. Entitled ‘Unclean, unclean!’, the webinar will be led by Dr Ghasson Shabha, of Birmingham School of the Built Environment, a regular contributor to Health Estate Journal, who will identify particular threats in healthcare facilities from dirty ductwork.
Dr Shabha points out that ‘fewer than 5% of building air-conditioning systems have been inspected, despite regulations making this mandatory’. Dr Shabha will look at how planned cleaning strategies can reduce risks, and how hospitals can use 3D building information modelling software to identify ‘infection hotspots’. He will be speaking, and responding to questions online, live from Birmingham, from 6 pm on Wednesday 14 November
