Valuable contributions, in some cases spanning a long and distinguished career, in a wide variety of different healthcare engineering and estates management disciplines, were recognised in style with the presentation of the 2012 IHEEM Awards at last October’s Healthcare Estates 2012 Annual IHEEM Dinner.
As HEJ editor, Jonathan Baillie, reports, last year’s Awards, which were presented at a gala evening event held in the sumptuous surroundings of Manchester’s Midland Hotel, recognised expertise, dedication, and hard work, in fields ranging from training to decontamination.
On the evening of 9 October at Healthcare Estates 2012, the Institute held its Annual Conference Dinner – on this occasion staged at Manchester’s magnificent Midland Hotel, which was built in 1903 by the Midland Railway to serve the adjacent Manchester Central railway station. After a drinks reception at which around 300 guests could catch up on some of the news from the show’s first day, network, and make new contacts, attendees heard brief welcoming speeches from IHEEM’s outgoing President, Paul Kingsmore, and his successor, Greg Markham. They then enjoyed a three-course meal in the Hotel’s Alexandra Suite, followed by the presentation of the 2012 IHEEM Awards.
